Emulation of auditory senses depending on chaotic dynamics of threshold switching memristor

Emulating the auditory sense is a significant challenge in terms of both integration and energy consumption for handling complicated spatiotemporal information. Here, we demonstrate how to utilize chaotic dynamics threshold switching memristor, which usually acts as leaky integrate fire neuron neuromorphic network, encode frequency amplitude We fabricate Pd/Nb/NbOx/Nb/Pd memristor dominated by Poole–Frankel conduction mechanism, set its state at edge chaos, stimulate it using periodic perturbations. The memristor's responses perturbation frequencies can be categorized into three zones. Two are phase locking with linear phase–frequency relationships, one has hyperbolic spike number–frequency relationship. system also enables intensity coding tonotopy modulating response spikes either locked or number. Based on emulation these two features, demonstrates sound location mixing. Our study suggests novel routine visual senses threshold-switching arrays enhance efficiency networks.
